Vila d´Este v Tivoli je se svým palácem a zahradou jednou z nejvýznamnějších a nejucelenějších ukázek renesanční kultury ve své čisté podobě. Její inovační plán společně s architektonickými prvky v zahradě (fontány,  altánky, sochy, ozdobné bazénky atd.) z ní dělají unikátní příklad italské zahrady 16.století. Vila a její ´zahrada zázraků´ se stala vzorem pro další zahrady v Evropě.
